Cascade Dreams by Amy Floyd

Working with Amy was an absolute joy! I reached out to Amy after seeing some of her paintings in a studio, and loved her use of color and the joy that her work conveys. I moved from Arizona in 2019 but wanted to bring some of the desert with me. Working with Amy even remotely was incredibly easy. From establishing easy payment plans to prompt email responses, I cannot imagine a smoother process. Amy took great care to take into account the space I was working with and the colors and themes I wanted to incorporate- and it could not have been an easy take to make such a personal piece of art for someone she had never met! She was incredibly responsive to feedback throughout the creation of the paintings and actively elicited my thoughts and ideas even if it meant doing over small details. When the pieces arrived I literally shrieked in surprise and happiness. The pictures she sent were lovely however after seeing the paintings in person I realized the photos sent of them did not do them justice. They are captivating, bold, and every time I look at them I see something new.

Stunning, just stunning. Thank you, thank you Amy!

Tell Me More Beautiful Human by Amy Floyd

I commissioned a painting from artist Amy Floyd as a memorial to my son Tomm who had passed the year before. My son was a beautiful, vibrant, creative soul and I wanted a small portion of his ashes to be part of a work of art. Amy’s paintings with their beautiful swirling colors drew me in and I knew my son would have loved her art as well. When we met in person to discuss Tomm and my hopes for the piece, Amy’s warmth, compassion and sincerity put me at ease and I felt comfortable entrusting a part of my son to her. Amy studied Tomm and came to know him well. The finished piece was so much more than I imagined and wasn’t only special because it held Tomm’s remains, but because Amy captured his spirit. Bits of Tomm’s writings, favorite quotes, sketches of his tattoos and other intimate details were layered amid his favorite colors, soaring birds and majestic flowers. There are truly no adequate words to describe how I felt when I first looked upon it…I can only say that this beautiful painting was a gift and is my most treasured possession. Amy entitled it, “Tell me more beautiful human”—profoundly perfect.

So very grateful,

Karen Z.
